# Episode clip map

Filmsers · Podcast Launch Kit · Worksheet v1

Turn a reviewed conversation into a traceable shortlist of self-contained clips, retaining the source context and approval status instead of extracting provocative lines in isolation.

## How to use

1. Before recording, list questions likely to produce useful moments. After recording, replace those ideas with actual source references; planned moments are not recorded excerpts.

2. For every candidate, log the source file or sequence version, IN/OUT and timecode convention. Rewatch the surrounding passage and preserve any qualification necessary to keep the guest's meaning intact.

3. Build a short edit that contains a question or premise, an answer and a useful conclusion. Check captions and titles against the source; obtain the agreed review before handing it to the person who publishes.

## Fictional worked example — Behind the Decision

Original planning examples, not actual guests, recorded quotations or completed media. Timing is estimated; source references must be verified after recording.

### Source and timecode record

BTD-EP01 / source file and sequence version pending / timecode convention to confirm / IN/OUT: unresolved. No interview has been recorded in this example; planning blocks from the rundown are not source timecodes.

### Candidate 1 — the decision

Planned candidate: Sam explains what the crew chose to protect. Value: a concrete trade-off. Keep the setup explaining the constraint; do not caption a proposed answer as if Sam said it. Status: find in actual source, or reject if absent.

### Candidate 2 — the rejected alternative

Planned candidate: why an attractive option was rejected. Retain the reason it was unavailable to this team; avoid a title claiming the option is always wrong. Source range and exact wording remain pending.

### Candidate 3 — the next-time check

Planned candidate: the question Sam would ask before a future delay. Keep any stated exceptions in the clip or caption. If the answer is too dependent on missing context, use a longer excerpt or leave it out.

### Edit and packaging row

Candidate 1 draft title: 'What did the crew protect when time ran short?' Final title depends on the recorded answer. Editor checks speaker attribution, complete sentences and whether the crop hides a relevant gesture; no finished clip or exact quote is supplied.

### Approval and release row

Producer checks meaning against the full source and confirms intended clip use. Editor supplies versioned export; Rowan approves packaging. Destination and release date unresolved. Status stays draft until review; this worksheet does not upload or schedule a post.

## Review before handoff

- [ ] Every approved clip has a real source reference and checked IN/OUT, not a guessed timestamp.

- [ ] The edit retains the guest's meaning, necessary qualifications and correct attribution.

- [ ] Title, captions, intended uses and approval status are checked before manual publication.

## Handoff

Save a versioned copy with your production files. Nothing here records, imports, sends invitations, creates a feed or publishes. The demo is shared; keep guest contacts and private production details in your own files.
